I can't believe how time is flying! I keep thinking to myself that I have all this time and I really don't. Oh and I have finally caught up with the the pregnancy on here so I can stop talking in past tense ha ha. My mom and I thought this would be a good idea since were not having a formal shower, so that people can still know what's been going on and see pictures and so I've been working on this since last week. I've seen some really fancy blogs and I don't know how I'm doing, but you will all get the general idea! I had my 28 week appointment last week and I had the dreaded glucose test. I heard horror stories about how disgusting the drink was and people throwing up, etc. Let me tell you, it wasn't BAD! For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, they give you a tiny little orange drink and tell you to consume it an hour before you get your blood drawn. It's to test for Gestational Diabetes, it's standard to test all pregnant women. The worst part was getting the blood drawn, which I ALWAYS dread! I haven't heard back on the results, so no news is good news I suppose. I also had a little scare with contractions. I wasn't having painful contractions, but just a tightening sensation in my belly a little more than I thought would be normal. So I called my doctor around 27 weeks and they had me come in for a test to see if I was producing a labor hormone. Luckily it came back negative and they chalked it up to overworking. So now I have an excuse to kick my feet up and relax! Oh and another new thing I have....a vericose vein...sad story. When you're pregnant you have double the blood, so I have a new, ugly vein growing on my knee! Which gives me another reason to kick up my feet because I have formed a blood clot in my vein. So I am now getting to relish the side effects of the third trimester even more. Still can't complain too much though, so far this pregnancy has been a breeze!
