16 weeks and into the second trimester!

The first trimester seemed to go really slowly for me. Having had a prior loss, getting to the "safe zone" seemed to take forever! I made it though and was beginning to let myself get really excited. So far at every appointment my doctor had done a sonogram so I was hoping that he would do the same at this appointment, because I knew there would be a chance we'd be able to find out what were having. The wait to find out the gender seems like forever! It was also a big day because Lori had come into town and we were trying to get ourselves into the Ellen DeGeneres show so it was a big day! The doctor walks in and says "You don't even have to ask, I've done this long enough to know to just do an ultrasound if there is even a chance the patient can find out what they're having!" That was music to my ears! He spent a minute trying to get the right angle, but didn't quite get the perfect shot. He was able to get a good enough shot to guess with 90% confidence that we were having a girl! I was happy to have either, but poor Braden looked crushed! He had his little heart set on a boy, and I knew he would be setting himself up for disappointment. He was still clinging on to that 10% chance! So after the appointment I rushed downtown to meet Lori and to tell her the news. We ended up making it on to the show and it was so fun!
